Success at Silverstone

Callum enjoyed his most successful weekend of the F3 season so far with his 1st podium in the feature race, 4th in the sprint race on the Saturday and a good points haul.

It was a successful weekend for Callum at the Silverstone round. Having initially held pole position in qualifying, a drying track allowed following drivers to put faster times in the last few seconds, with Callum ending up 9th. Nevertheless, a good result, which translated into 4th for the part reverse-grid sprint race.

The delayed sprint race was held in dry, if chilly, conditions with Callum maintaining 4th despite a number of attacks from surrounding drivers and earning him his first points.

Sunday’s feature race was full on incident with Callum opting for slick tyres despite the threat of rain. Having moved to lead the race from 9th, falling rain meant he dropped back to 21st as those on wets swarmed past. However, with the track drying Callum fought his way back to the lead of the race coming over the line in 1st. However, a 5 second penalty, which many felt was harsh, demoted him to 3rd, but overall a great weekend.
